Keep His command and endure patiently, or else…

Scripture: Revelation 3: 10

Since you have kept my command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.

Observation: Those who keep God’s command will be kept from true devastation and the trial which will encompass the earth.

Application: I have been reading in Ezekiel this week, as well as Revelation. And, if you haven’t read for yourself, there is some icky stuff in there that I sure wouldn’t want to face. The wrath of God is strong and fierce. He wants so much for us to obey and there will a come a time when punishment for not believing and accepting his gift will come.

He is also tremendously loving and knows our weakness. He has given us the gift of redemption in his son Jesus Christ. Jesus has paid the price for our sin. All we need to do is embrace that and follow him to receive this “pass” out of eternal suffering and into a lifetime with God the Father who loves us.

I’m so thankful I have been given this choice to believe… and that He revealed himself to me. If he had revealed himself and I had denied him, I think I would be in big trouble!

Prayer: Thank you, Lord for giving me eyes to see and for putting people in my path to point me to you and your truth. When I become impatient about anything, please remind me of your love and your gift and your command that I endure patiently. You are sovereign. And you have given me the gift of eternal life with you. And that is more than I deserve. So when I complain about my trials on earth, I thank you for loving me anyway. And for your gentle reminders to be patient. Thank you, Lord.
