Scripture 2 Peter: 3
As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness!

Observation: To live a godly life, it is imperative to get to know Jesus better. Then he will give me all I need through his divine power. He wants me/ all of us to experience this glory and goodness.
Application: I can read and study other books and blogs about Jesus. I can try my best to do good and nice things. But the way to receive his divine power is to know Him and to grow that relationship.
That can only be done through studying the Word directly and praying/ listening to him. And as I know him better, he will share with me the divine gifts I need to live a truly godly life, transforming from faith to a life of moral excellence, to knowing God better, to self-control, to patient endurance, to godliness and love for other Christians and then love for all. (This from verses 5-8)
Prayer: Keep me in your word, Lord. Do not let me stray. Show my next reading plan or make it obvious that I should do last year’s plan again. I want to grow in you. I want to grow in the ways you have set for me. Thank you for calling me to receive your glory and goodness… what an incredible gift! Guide me in receiving and honoring that gift.
