Money, Money, Money Month, week 2

As I mentioned last week, this month my ladies’ discussion group is reading books on money/ finance.

Since I cannot invite you all into my home twice a month for dinner, wine, prayer and fantastic conversation, I thought I’d at least virtually invite you for conversation, if you’d like. And this invitation is for every Tuesday, so in some ways, you’re even getting a better deal…more great conversation, should you decide to play along.

This week I’d love to hear what book you might be reading.

Last week I posted a few suggestions. Feel free to stretch this topic as far as you’d like, but also take the opportunity, if you can, to educate yourself in an area you may not already have mastered (and who has this week?).

I’ll be reading The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas J. Stanley and William D. Danko. My financial advisor husband has been talking about this book far as long as I’ve known him, so I think it is about time I read it myself. I’ve heard him discuss it countless times through the years.

So, what about you? What are you going to commit to read this month? Leave a comment with your book ideas and what you plan to read.

Next Tuesday we’ll talk about what we’re learning so far.

  1. I’m a bit behind, but I really want to do this! I think I’m going to go for the Total Money Makeover too, it’s one I’ve had earmarked to read for awhile now…and I’m bookmarking your hubby’s recommendations, I want to read them too at some point!

    Take care,
    Steph

  2. Dave’s book is awesome. It even comes with a workbook to do some “homework”. It’s a great motivator. Don’t we all need that?!

  3. I think I’m going to read Dave Ramsey’s “Total Money Makeover.” I’ve heard so much about it (and some of it seems contradictory to the training I’ve had in the investment field; I’m sure your hubby would agree) so I’d like to go straight to the horse’s mouth to see exactly what all Dave is saying… IF I can find some time to run to Barnes & Noble. :)
