Planning with God: Proverbs 16

Today (Wednesday) our reading is Proverbs 16.

Here is what I heard:

Scripture: Proverbs 16:1, 3

To man belong the plans of the heart,

but from the Lord comes the reply of the tongue.

Commit to the Lord whatever you do,

and your plans will succeed.

Observation:

Listen to God when making plans and commit those plans to Him.

Application:

I have been deliberating about the dates for the next session of the Bible in 90 Days on MomsToolbox for quite awhile now. Yesterday, some dates that I had not considered hit me pretty hard. And they have stayed there.

I wonder if this is confirmation. I wonder if He is telling me to commit those plans to Him, stop deliberating and just go with it.

I’m going to let that marinade for just a little longer.

And then I’ll let you know what I hear.

Prayer:

Lord, you are amazing. It tickles me that I asked you for guidance on this and then I open up my Bible and you tell me that you are here, guiding me… And that if I commit my plans to You they will succeed.

What am I worried about? Your reassurance is just too cool and that should be more than enough. Thank you, God, for listening to little tiny me and guiding me. Thank you for knowing I need your reassurance. And thank you for allowing me to work with you in so many awesome things.

Please, Lord, guide others in this same way and let them feel your presence. Help me to inspire others to grow closer to you and also be amazed.

Thank you.

What about you?

What stood out to you in Proverbs 16?
