Proverbs SOAP: Please help with my cheerful heart

Scripture: Proverbs 17:22

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up bones.

Observation: Having the right frame of mind can make all the difference… A happy outlook brings healing.

Application: Today and tomorrow I and 12,999 cyclists are riding in a bicycle ride from Houston to Austin (about 180 miles) to raise money from Multiple Sclerosis.

It is a tough ride and it is projected to be raininy all day, all night (as we camp out) and all day tomorrow.

Please pray for us, the volunteers and those who suffer from MS that we may all have cheerful hearts this weekend so that we can keep pedaling, literally or figuratively. This is one medicine where we could use your help!

Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for the opportunity to serve you by serving others this weekend and also by sharing your love in the BP MS 150. Please guide my path and keep me, and the other riders and volunteers safe as we cycle in the rain. Please, Lord, catch us before we fall and give us the pushes we need to make it thorugh and enjoy the experience. Guide me that I may hear from you all weekend. I love this time we have together, Lord. I give it to you for your use.

Also, Lord, please give a cheerful heart to all those impacted by MS. Help this weekend to give them the good medicine they need.
