A chapter of Proverbs a day…
Scripture: Proverbs 1:1-2
1The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
2for attaining wisdom and discipline;
for understanding words of insight;
Observation: The book of Proverbs is set aside to help me gain wisdom and grow as a disciple.
Application: Reading and studying and truly listening to God in the pages of the Proverbs will help me to grow into the believer and person that God has designed me to be.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for wanting me to grow in wisdom, discipline and understanding. Thank you for providing your Word that we may read it, study it and hear you in it.
Please guide my reading of Proverbs this month so that I will hear you speaking directly to me, even when I may not like what you are saying, so that I may grow in wisdom and discipline and gain more insight in the places you know I need it.
Please be with all those reading with me that we all might hear you speaking to each of us individually and learn what you have set out for each of us.
Please, Lord, continue to guide those struggling to finish reading the Bible in its entirety with our Bible in 90 Days group. Keep Satan from thwarting their plans. Enable them to see and use pockets of time to continue reading your Word. And, Lord, I pray that you guide all of us through the next steps you have designed for each of us.
