Psalm 15: A guide for living and gorgeous grace

bible-study-post

I am literally on an airplane hoping to finish this post before the door closes. So I’d better just jump right in…

Here’s what I heard in Psalm 15:

Scripture: Psalm 15

The whole thing really grabbed me, rather than just one verse.

You can read all of Psalm 15 on Bible Gateway.

Observation:

Those that get to hang out with the Lord are:

  • blameless
  • righteous
  • speak truth
  • don’t lie or speak poorly of others
  • fear the Lord
  • keep their word
  • help others without goal of personal gain

Application:

In some ways, this is an overwhelming passage. It is a list of attributes that, of course, I aspire to, but so very often come short. I cannot do it all.

And then the really good part of it all got me:

with Jesus, I AM blameless and righteous and He will guide me in working toward the rest.

I need to lean on Him– and he offers peace and all sorts of goodness.

Prayer:

Thank you, Lord, for giving me these things to aspire too and your grace and love.

I want to dwell with you. Thank you for your Son so that I can.

Please guide me in living the life you have intended for me and finding joy in working towards that life every day.
