Psalm 18: He can guide me

bible-study-post
I’m weary.
There are so many things pulling at me. Are you feeling the same way?

I bet David did, too.

Fortunately, I don’t have enemies attacking me or my people in the way David did. But I do feel pressed and pulled, that is for sure.

I am getting ahead of myself.

Here is what I heard in Psalm 18:

Scripture: Psalm 18:35-36

You have given me the shield of your salvation,

and your right hand supported me,

and your gentleness made me great.

You gave a wide place for my steps under me,

and my feet did not slip.

Observation:

God gives protection, strength and a firm foundation.

Application:

Today I am facing a task list that is growing in length and urgency. I feel the enemy of the urgent pressing me on all sides. I am seeing so many victories, yet they are being overshadowed by all the tasks.

That needs to stop. I need to turn to Him to calm me, strengthen me, and guide my next steps. He gives protection, strength and a firm foundation. I need to remember that, seek that, and rest in that.

Prayer:

Lord, please guide me through my priorities and tasks. You have given me what I need. I CAN do what is needed WITH YOU guiding me.

Calm the crazies. Help me to to order my tasks. Show me what to do and guide me in getting all done that needs to be done– and then please show me what to do with the rest.

Thank you, Lord, for the opportunities you give me. Thank you for reminding me that YOU are my firm foundation. If you can help David in battle, you can certainly guide me. Thank you for that reassurance. Please let me hear your guidance this morning, today and always.

Amen.
