Psalm 30: Cry out to Him. He WILL heal

bible-study-post

What grabbed me from today’s reading was something not necessarily for me, but for someone I love. This person needed to hear this today. I shared it with that person already and was in prayer for him/ her. Now I am sharing it with you.

Here is what I heard in Psalm 30 using SOAP:

Scripture: Psalm 30:2

I cried out to you for help,

and you have healed me.

Observation:

He will guide us and heal us if he ask Him to do so.

Application:

Before we get too far, I want to acknowledge that this healing we receive from Him may or may not be what we have in mind. It will be some sort of healing, though. I also want to point out that I believe you must listen and  take part in that healing.

That being said:

Do not feel like you have to be ‘right’ with God to call out to Him. He is ready to listen and respond in love wherever you are, in whatever the circumstance.

The rest of this Psalm is gorgeous as the writer, David, talks about how God’s love and guidance brought him out of despair and into a much better place. (Go give all of Psalm 30 a read if you haven’t yet today. It’ll be worth it.)

When you are in that pit of despair, call out to Him. Tell Him what is on your mind. Then also open your heart to listen and take in His love and grace and guidance. He’s amazingly powerful.

Prayer:

Lord, you know for whom this is directed today in my life. Please guide that person in reaching out. Keep evil from preventing that person reaching out to you. Call that person to you. Guide that person and let that person feel your overwhelming love. Also, Lord, reach anyone who may be reading this and experiencing pain and guide each of those, too. Help more people see your glorious grace and love. Help more to reach out right where they are, understanding that you are
