Good morning from Napa, California.
I’m still in California for meetings, yesterday driving out to Napa and today driving back in near San Francisco before flying back home later today.
Last night I had the privilege of staying at the home of one of my VineSleuth advisors. She and her husband have been incredibly hospitable. When I first arrived, I was wearing a silk dress. She suggested I change into something more casual and even offered me shorts and a t-shirt when I explained I had only packed casual clothes that were for cooler weather. I changed and felt so much more at home, and the evening just got better from there. We had great conversations, a delicious dinner (with the most amazing blood orange brownies to top it off!) and, of course, great wine. I was fading by the end of the night and she sent me off to bed with a cup of tea. Perfect.
This morning I am up thanking God for the experiences He has handed me this week and always. It truly amazes me when I think of all the opportunities and people that He has put in my life for different reasons. He has certainly always been there.
Here’s what I heard in Psalm 33 using SOAP:
Scripture: Psalm 33: 21
For our heart is glad in him,
because we trust in his holy name.
True trust in Him brings a joyful heart.
I have certainly found it to be true that when I completely trust in Him, He is there for me. He guides me. He presents opportunities to me. He helps me to identify those opportunities and He encourages me as I pursue them. He certainly makes my heart glad when I see His providence.
Am I happy every single moment? No. There are hard, frustrating times. But in those rough times I know that I need to lean on Him and trust Him and He will see me through. And that keeps my heart happy when I stop and think about it.
Trusting in Him yields a peace and joy, even in the hard times.
Lord, thank you so much for your guidance and love. Thank you for knowing much more about the steps I need to take and for providing so many fruitful opportunities to me. Thank you for helping me as you do in so many ways.
Trusting in you has certainly yielded a happy heart in me. My heart leaps with joy at times in thanksgiving to you. Thank you not only for the gifts you give, but also for helping me to see those gifts.
Please help others to yield to you and help me to yield to you even more. Please continue to guide our paths, bringing the right opportunities to those who seek you.
I love you. Thank you for your faithfulness, Thank you for honoring my trust. And thank you for the joy that I experience which comes from trusting you.
