Psalm 43: Let me see His truth

bible-study-post

Good morning from New York City!

Two days ago I was invited to come to New York to discuss Wine4.Me with reporters alongside others on the IBM Watson team. You bet I said “yes,” and made the trip happen. Of course I am looking forward to my meetings today.

Before then, of course, I gotta get my SOAP on!

Today’s reading continued on yesterday’s cries of frustration and loneliness. It offers hope for those suffering, in that it explains that it is OKAY to call out to Him in despair He wants to hear those genuine cries, too.

I have plenty of people whom I know and love who are suffering right now. If you are in that bad place, I do hope you’ll take the time to read all of Psalm 43. It’s short and very encouraging. The verse I picked out for me doesn’t necessarily cover the whole meaning of the Psalm, so I don’t want you to miss what you need to hear.

Alrighty, that being said, here’s what spoke to me in Psalm 43:

Scripture: Psalm 43:3

Send out your light and your truth,

let them lead me;

let them bring me to your holy hill

and to your dwelling!

Observation:

Lord, Let me see your truth so that I may follow you.

Application:

I want to know His way for me. Sometimes it is clear and sometimes it is not. I can say that when I look back on things, it can be easy to see his hand, but looking forward doesn’t have that same clarity.

I want that clarity moving forward, too.

I want to be sure to follow his path, as it is much better than any path I could come up with on my own.He is the one with whom I want to collaborate. He is the one I want guiding me.

Seeing his path isn’t just going to happen without effort on my part, though. I need to be sure to set aside the time to seek and listen and talk about it with him and follow. He will show me, if I just seek diligently.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for guiding my way. Thank you for listening to me and allowing me to follow you.

Please, Lord, stay in control of me. Help me to remember to seek you first, always. And as I seek, Lord, please let me hear and follow.

You’ve brought me into and through lots of exciting adventures. Help me through the ones I am in now. Guide me.

And, Lord, for all those who are having trouble hearing you, please let them get a better glimpse of you and your glory today and tomorrow and always. I pray that everyone sees your generosity, love and kindness and that they hear your direction.

Thank you, Lord.

Amen.
