Psalm 55: Cast your burden upon Him

bible-study-post

This trip keeps getting more and more exciting, with a crazy round of great meetings yesterday, one of which even had a side benefit of learning to apply soy sauce to sushi properly.  (You dip the top of the sushi, the fish part, into the soy sauce, not the rice. This keeps the rice part from falling apart.) Another of which took me to race go carts. And then there were the basic phone and Skype meetings, too.

Through all of my experiences yesterday, I just had to smile, even giggle a bit, and thank God for the doors he is opening for me. He certainly has something planned!

Today’s Psalm seems to deal more with one who is being attacked and needs strength against his enemies. I don’t feel the same sort of attack, but I still need to call upon Him for his strength and guidance.

Here’s what I heard in Psalm 55 by applying SOAP:

Scripture: Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden upon the Lord,

and he will sustain you;

he will never permit

the righteous to be moved.

Observation:

Reach out to Him when you are weary and need help and He will give you what you need.

Application:

I keep seeing His gifts pour into my life. I know that if I seek Him and listen to Him He will give me what I need.

He wants to help us. He wants to guide us. He wants to give us what we need. For that to happen, we need to ask, listen, follow and then receive his help. I honestly believe that. I see it daily.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for your guidance, love, support and direction. The path you have set for me has been crazy exciting. Help me to navigate it in the best way. I need help. I am casting my burden on you now and asking for you to sustain me. Show me the right options to pursue. Guide me as I pursue them. You have opened up so many opportunities and you know the right ones, or one, to pursue first. Guide me in the pursuit of those or that.

And also, Lord, please give me some good, solid rest soon. My body is getting tired. Help me to find the right nourishment. Help me to take care of myself and my family the way you know I should. Sustain us, Lord, as you told us you would.

Thank you for your promises, Lord, and thank you for your faithfulness in fulfilling them. Thank you for allowing me to hear you and thank you for the shower of blessings you continue to bestow on me. I truly appreciate them.

Amen
