Psalm 56: I put my trust in Him

bible-study-post

Good morning, once again, from Las Vegas.

Today I will head back home after an amazing few days at IBM’s Insight conference. I’ve had a blast here, meeting some fantastic people, talking with potential partners and exploring new possibilities for my business in terms of partnerships and new features for the applications we are building. Speaking at the opening general session opened the door for me to meet with some incredible minds while here.

Last night was all about having fun after an intense few days, as Maroon 5 played a concert just for conference attendees. Of course the music was great but, even better, I enjoyed just dancing, visiting and hanging out with so many on the Watson team. They are an incredible group of people. I feel so fortunate not only to partner with IBM Watson, but to get to work with these people in particular. They are truly a team and I admire how they work together.

My heart is filled with joy in this opportunity. I am so thankful to be in this position. It’s a ton of work to be here, but that work has the potential for some pretty exciting success. I can’t help but smile as I look back at all of the seemingly coincidental things that got me where I am. They remind me that God is absolutely in control. Which leads me to my reading for today.

Here is what I heard in Psalm 56 when I applied SOAP:

Scripture: Psalm 56:3

When I am afraid,

I put my trust in you.

Observation:

I trust God

Application:

He has a plan. My job is to talk to Him about that plan and do my very best to follow it. Yes, bad things will happen and yes, there will be bumps and bruises and there are no promises for things being easy. But, ultimately, He’s got me. My life in earth, and eternally, is in His hands. Knowing that, I can just do my best to listen to Him and follow, knowing that He has me. True trust in Him washes away fear.

Prayer:

Lord, you continue to amaze me with your provision and gifts.

As I look back on so many things, I see your hand all over my life, preparing me and orchestrating more meetings and opportunities than I can count. Thank you so much for that, and thank you for the ability to stop, listen to you, look back and see your presence in my life. Seeing you in my past helps me to know with certainly that you are here now, too. In you I trust, completely. You have shown me your love. You have shown me your provision. I enjoy reading your Word and praying with you about it daily and I love that when I call on you throughout the day you listen and guide. Thank you. You keep fear at bay. I put my trust in you, for you are more than worthy.

Amen.
