Psalm 62: He is my strength, and he is super strong

bible-study-post

Good morning! I think my good hospital pain meds wore off at some point during the night because I woke up with a very uncomfortable knee. Ouch.

But this will pass and someday my knee will be better. Ouch for now, though. I was so agile yesterday (okay, kind agile.) Today I barely want to take 4 steps. But I will overcome!

Okay, please forgive my complaining. Now, on to the good stuff.

Here is what I heard in Psalm 62 using SOAP:

Scripture: Psalm 62: 2

He alone is my rock and salvation,

my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.

Observation:

He is the one who makes me strong and he is super strong. so, therefore with Him, I can be super strong, too.

Application:

He’s the big Dude, the strong One, the Creator. With Him on my side (or when I am on His side) all is right and powerful. I am going through some major bumps and bruises here (and I’m not talking about my knee here, although that is literally a pain). By putting my bets on Him to guide me and by leaning on Him, listening to Him and following Him, I will overcome all of that. He IS my fortress. I will NOT be shaken. I might feel wrestled loose here and there, but I need to cling tightly to Him and I we will be victorious.

So there. Take THAT, evil.

Prayer:

Oh Father God, you are mighty. You are the mightiest. These bumps and bruises are hard, but YOU have this. I trust you. I put my strength and my battle plan in your mighty hands. Guide us. Guide all of us involved. Show us your way and let all involved and touched see that YOU are in charge. You have this. You will guide through and out of the wilderness.

Thank you, Father, for being my rock and salvation. I love you. I trust you.

Amen.
