Psalm 84: Does getting your strength from Him mean you can have anything you want?

Bible Study with MomsToolbox.com

Scripture: Psalm 84: 5

Blessed are those whose strength is in you,

in whose heart are the highways to Zion.

Observation:

Those who listen, lean on and follow the Lord are blessed.

Application:

Finding strength in God means really going to Him in prayer and then really listening to His guidance and then really taking action as instructed by God. That action may not be clear right away, or it may be obvious, but it will, at some point, be there. You’ll know it is from Him if it is in line with scripture, as His instruction will be consistent in many ways.

I know that with God I am much stronger. He shows me through the rough patches and guides me through the joyful ones, too.

When I go to Him for my strength and guidance, I know I will be blessed. It isn’t that I will get any crazy thing that my heart desires, it is that my desires are then aligned with what is right for my path. Yep, there are times I want things that may not be right, and so when I go to Him, I can see that, and make the right alignments.

Following God allows me to be blessed. I trust and believe in that. I have seen it in my life so many times.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for your countless gifts and blessings in my life. It is true that those whose strength in you are blessed. I see that in me and in others.

Thank you, Lord, for reminding me that you are always here, in the struggle and in the celebration.

I love that you listen and show me the way. I love that you give me hints and signs of things yet to come, paths that you see for me and want to guide me to reach and follow.  (I’m seeing this hints now and they are so very reassuring. Thank you. I’m eager to see what is in store, but I know I don’t need to know the big picture now.)

I love that you are faithful and will listen and share wisdom in the right time, provided I ask and listen. Thank you.

Please, Lord, help those who are begging to hear from you to hear you. Please, Lord, guide me in hearing you clearly always. I want to follow you. I want to do as you see best, as it is the right path.

Thank you, Lord.
