Psalms SOAP: What are your idols?

Day 55 of the Psalms in 60 Days

Today’s Reading: Psalms 135-137

Scripture: Psalm 135: 5 and 15

Psalm 135:5

I know that the Lord is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods.

Pslams 135: 15

The idols of the nations are silver and gold,

made by the hands of men.

Observation: God is all-powerful, true and greater than anything else.

Application: I need to be sure I am always honoring God with my actions and heart.

When I look at my time and actions am I honoring another ‘idol’ or am I honoring God?

Prayer: Lord, I need your guidance. Please keep me focused on the things that honor you,the things that you have set out for me and not on the things which are false idols of the world. Please, Lord, when I am feeling controlled by my to do list and overwhelmed by all I think that needs to get done, please redirect my focus where you want it. Shoe me how to spend my time and efforts honoring you, not man-made idols.

Tomorrow’s Reading: Psalms 138-140
