Seeking Mentor Mom Wisdom and Stories

Are you a mom who has children in their tewnties or older and have a story to tell? Or do you know a mom who is, whose wisdom you think another younger mom could benefit from reading?

I’d love to launch a new feature on MomsToolbox.com where we could all learn from the wisdom of moms who have already ‘been there:’ They have already seen their babies grow up to be adults and can look back and laugh, cry and see what they did right… or wrong.

With the ways families move from place to  place so often now and no longer stay near extended families, I think something has been lost in young moms learning from their own moms. Finding a mentor mom can be tough. I know it has been for me.

I’d like to find a way to bring moms together in an online community where experienced moms can share what they have learned with younger moms, still in the trenches raising babaies, toddlers, school-kids and teenagers.

I’m not looking for ‘expert’ moms… just moms who have experiences and stories to share that can make it easier and offer  a perspective check for the rest of us.

So… do you have a story to share? Or do you know someone who does? I’d love to hear about it!

Please either leave a comment or send me an email if you would like to contribute, would like to ask your mentor to contribute, or would like to suggest I invite someone to contribute.

The contributor need not be a blogger.. just a loving mom who is ready to share in either video or written form.

  2. This is a great idea! My own mom died before my children were born. I can’t tell you how often I’ve wanted to talk through some issues and get her perspective on stuff.

  4. My kids aren’t grown and gone, but they were all preemies. I could offer advice on having a NICU baby, taking care of older siblings and a NICU baby, and the stress and heartache that comes along with it.
