SOAP: Build a team

Good morning!

Last night I went to bed after journaling and praying and trying to solve a problem. I feel super-stretched and some important stuff isn’t happening as I would like for it to happen. I asked God to show me what to do and how to do it.

I believe today’s reading held a very important part of the answer.

Todays reading:

Acts 6

Scripture:

And the 12 summoned the full number of disciples and said “It is not right that we should give up preaching the word of God to serve tables.”

Therefore, brothers, pick out from among you seven men of good repute, full of the Spirit and of wisdom, whom we will appoint to this duty. But we will devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the  of the word.

… The Word of God prospered….

–Acts 6 1-4, 7

Observation:

This is what I heard for me:

You cannot do it all.

Recruit quality team members.

Application:

I spent quite along time journaling on paper this morning, amazed at the timeliness of this passage and questioning what, exactly I should delegate. It is pretty clear, though, that I need help and that I should enlist that help.

I’m going to leave the personal details out online, but trust me, there will be more praying and journaling as I figure this out.

I’d like to encourage you to go to Him with your puzzle and troubles, too.

Prayer:

Father God,

Thank you for the timeliness and love in your message. Help me as I determine the best next steps– what I should focus on primarily and what tasks and projects I should grow a team to manage. Show me, Father, how to build that team properly, not just delegate, but build a team that works together best to serve your plan for me in several areas. You put me here. You know the next steps. Guide me, please, in seeing and enacting the right ones.

Thank you, again, for your word and your faithfulness.
