SOAP: Don’t lose heart. Keep doing good.

Good morning to you!

Are you traveling a tough path? Are things a bit (or a lot) out of control and it doesn’t look like God is near? He is. Read on, my friends….

Today our reading is Acts 7. Here is what grabbed me:

Scripture:

…He gave Joseph wisdom and enabled him to gain goodwill of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

So Pharaoh made him ruler over Egypt and all his palace.

–Acts 7:10 (part of it, anyhow)

Observation:

Things were not going well for Joseph, but he didn’t lose heart. He continued to follow God and, eventually, was put in a position of power where he could influence for good.

Application:

Don’t lose heart, even when things don’t seem to be going well. Keep doing good and following Him, even when bad things happen.

Prayer:

Father God,

You know how frustrated and weary I am. Your word today is like a fresh sip of water than I need to keep before me.

I need to stay strong. I  need to stay the course. I need to  listen to you for guidance, because you will guide me on the right path.

There may be, and will be, bumps and bruises along the way, and you know that. I need to know that. I also need to embrace that you are here, and you will see me through and use my efforts for good, provided I allow that to happen.

Thank you, God, for this reassurance and for being here.

I love you.

Will you please soften these bumps and bruises, though? They are difficult to manage at times. I could sure use some help.

Thank you.
