SOAP: Keeping Hope in Pain

Scripture:

20 “Surely God does not reject a blameless man or strengthen the hands of evildoers. 21 He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. 22 Your enemies will be clothed in shame, and the tents of the wicked will be no more”

-Job 8:20-22

Observation:

God loves us.  He has reason.  He will listen to the cries of the blameless/righteous (we become that way by following Jesus, by the way!!) and He will bring joy to them and trample their enemy.

Application:

In my frustration, when I feel attacked from one angle or all — when bad stuff just keeps coming, I need to remember that joy will come.

My trust in Jesus makes me blameless — and God will not reject a blameless man.  He WILL fill my mouth with laughter and lips with joy. I need to hang tight in faith.

Prayer:

Father God, thank you for this affirmation of your love of us, for this reminder of truth.  Joy will come.  Evil will be overcome. Love will reign.  You are in charge.

Amen.

  1. Wow..I’ve been struggling with these trials coming my way including the frustration and aggravation with my chronic pain. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I got directed here. Thank you for this.

I also love the 90 day Bible challenge you do regularly. I haven’t done that, but I think I will!
