SOAP: Making my calling and election sure

Scripture: 2 Peter 1:10-11

10Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall, 11and you will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Observation: Grow in faith and knowledge and in your relationship to Christ so that you will be assured a spot in Christ’s eternal kingdom. Don’t become complacent and let yourself slip or you may fall.

Application: Just before this passage, Peter lists qualities to strive for to grow in Christ. It is critical to not be complacent about my relationship with Christ, but to continue to grow it through study and prayer.

I need to be careful not to slip and fall, or fall away bit by bit… but instead to keep challenging myself to grow more and more in the Word.

I cannot help but say it… what better way is there to keep growing in Christ than reading His Word daily? What better way is there to learn, grow and make sure of my calling and election?

If you’re looking for a reading plan and a challenge to really be immersed in His Word and grow, I’ve got one for you…

I can only imagine how I’m going to grow as I experience the Bible in 90 Days challenge this time!

Prayer: Oh Heavenly Father, I am so excited about how you are allowing me to be a part of encouraging people to read your Word, all of it, in 90 days.

I am already amazed and we’ve only just begun inviting readers… what will happen when the reading kicks off?

Lord, guide me to continually grow in the ways you want me to grow so that I will not fall. Keep me close and show me your plan as I need to know it.

And thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the honor and excitement of serving you!
