Scripture: 16:7
But the Lord said to Samuel “Don’t judge by his appearance or height, for I have rejected him. The Lord doesn’t make decisions the way you do! People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at a person’s thoughts and intentions.”
Observation: God doesn’t judge the way humans do. We can only see part of the picture, whereas our Father knows the complete story.
Application: It is so difficult to keep from making any type of judgment about someone. But, even after we get to know a person, we still cannot make an accurate judgment. Only God knows the complete and true story about any one of us. So, as hard is it may be, I need to remember not to judge… ever. I will never know the whole story. And I should treat all as children of God. Because that much I will always know is true.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for loving me and looking past my mistakes. And thank you for loving all of us, and sending your son to die for all of our mistakes.
Please help me to remember that my judgments are never warranted… you are the only one who knows the truth. Please stop when I jump to conclusions and remind me of your love and omnipotence.
