SOAP: Pray with belief, not exasperation

I’m deviating from the original Bible reading plan. I hope to explain later.

Here’s what I have for today:

Mark 11: 24

24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Observation: Have some faith in your prayers: believe they will be answered and they will be.

Application: Sometimes when I pray, I figuratively thrown up my hands and say something like this “If you can fix it, then fix it.”

Well, He can fix it. My frustration and defeatist attitude isn’t going to help matters.

I need to turn that frustrated frown upside down always and present my requests at His glorious feet with confidence.

Prayer: Lord, I am sorry that I don’t always pray with gusto. And I’m sorry I’ve been moping around feeling kind of lost lately.

Even now you have me and you hold me.

You created me. I need to stop looking at all my faults and revel in the fact that I am yours. And that you want us to work together.

Please, forgive me for this moping.

Pull me out of it and mold me into the woman you intend for me to be.

I need some directions and oomph. Please give those to me.

I look forward to a change in attitude and a renewed focus that I know will come from you at just the right time.

Thank you, Lord.

  1. Pretty sure that prayer was intended to come out of my mouth today too. Thank you for sharing it. :-)
