SOAP: Seeking sound judgement and discernment for my husband

Scripture: Proverbs 3:21-26

My son, preserve sound judgment and discernment, do not let them out of your sight;

they will be life for you, an ornament to grace your neck.

Then you will go on your way in safety, and your foot will not stumble;

when you lie down, you will not be afraid; when you lie down your sleep will be sweet.

Have no fear of sudden disaster or of the ruin that overtakes the wicked,

for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.

Observation: Good judgment and confidence in the Lord is critical. With that, you will see things in their proper perspective and be safe, without fear.

Application: I found this passage today with help from The Power of a Praying Wife. This morning I am to pray for protection over my husband from calamities.

This passage, though, covers so much more and I think it is a beautiful prayer in itself.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, please watch over and guide my husband. Guide him in seeking and keeping sound judgment and discernment. With those, he will live in safety, without stumbling. With those, he will sleep peacefully. And with those, our life will be filled with the peace and comfort that can only come from you.

Thank you for your gift of direction. Please guide both of us in seeking your direction and following the path you have already set for us.
