SOAP: Sometimes He stops us from doing what we may think is right

Today’s reading is Acts 16.

Here’s what grabbed me:

Scripture:

And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden by the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia. – Acts 16:6

Observation:

The Holy Spirit kept them from sharing the word in some places.

Application:

Say What?!

God kept them quiet?

Yep.

Sometimes His direction may not make sense to us. That’s okay.

And that’s why it is really important to go to him, ask for guidance and listen. Without that, we may pursue things that look good to us, but He knows aren’t the best.

Our logic should not prevail. His wisdom should.

Prayer:

Father God,

Thank you for showing me here that things may have twists and turns that don’t always make sense to me. It seems it is critical to talk with you about so much, and not make assumptions that will take me down the wrong path.

Please, Father, help me to rely on you, hear you and follow your guidance closely. Help me also to discern when the roadblocks are there from you versus when they are challenged you want me to overcome.

Thank you, Lord.
