Scripture: Matthew 11:28
Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.
Observation: Jesus wants us to go to him and to lean on him. He will give us comfort.
Application: This sounds simple. But it takes full faith to really work.
I can feel pretty weary at times.
I must go to him completely, not halfway, not even most of the way, and he will guide me, change my perspective and give me rest.
I would bet full trust leads to total contentment… and all the rest I need.
Prayer: Lord, I want the rest and refreshment I can only gain from you. Please guide me in leaning completely on you and not on me or the world. Then I will fully enjoy the beauty of rest from you.
Help me to evaluate my actions and motives… and look toward you, lean toward you, serve you and not serve this world. I want your rest! Thank you for this promise.
