The Proverbs in 31 Days begins Tuesday

Looking for something to keep you in the Word, but not overwhelm you as much as the Bible in 90 Days?

Beginning  Tuesday, November 1, I’ll be reading and SOAPing through the Proverbs here on MomsToolbox, taking one chapter a day, ending on Thursday, December 1.

I’d love for you to read with me and journal and pray about the reading. Feel free to use the SOAP method, or any other method that helps you to really internalize the messages God may have for you each day in the reading.

If you are a blogger, consider sharing some or all of your thoughts on your own site, which will, in turn encourage your readers to consider spending more time in the Bible with us.

Whether you blog or not, consider keeping a journal of your thoughts and prayers over the next month. I find that when I record my study session using SOAP or another method, I feel much more connected to God and my prayer is that you would experience growth and closeness to God during this time.

Ready to read with me? Please let me know in the comments:

  1. I want to do this… tried hard with the Bible in 90, but just couldn’t catch up once I got behind several weeks into it. A month sounds do-able!

This seems like a much more attainable goal for me. I tried the book in 90 days and I just can’t make it after a few weeks.

Will be joining you in reading the Proverbs! Looking forward to it.

  6. I”m thinking I should do this and that it will be a little “easier” to promise to read for 31 straight days instead of the whole 90. I haven’t been able to make it through the 90 yet … Thank you for this new goal.

    1. You are so welcome! :)

  21. I was just wondering what I was going to be reading until the next B90 begins. This will be perfect. I’m in :-)

  22. I would love to join in. I managed to finish the Bible in under a 100 days and feel like I need a little more than just my daily devotion now. This sounds like something manageable for this time of year.

  23. I am planning to read along with you through Proverbs in the month of November

  24. I am with you Amy, Proverbs in 31 days…

  25. I’m in! I’m looking for some structure while I wait for the next Bible in 90 Days to start.

I failed to complete the Bible in 90 Days but think that with two small children, I will be able to complete this successfully. Count me in!!

  27. Yes, please! I loved b90days, so I’m excited for something else, and I love having accountability!

  28. I’ll do it! Loved doing B90 days and this sounds light enough to be able to handle during this busy season.

  29. I’m in! I need a short-term challenge right now to help me stay focused through one of life’s busy seasons. Thanks!

  30. I think I would like to do this too. I haven’t read Proverbs in a while. I know there are some nuggets of wisdom that I need right now.

I also failed the bible in 90 days challenge. My ADD just took over. I was reading it but not retaining what I was reading. I felt like it was a race. But this…I can do. My grandfather used to do this every day. Read one proverbs a day. Since there is 31 days in a month & if there wasn’t he’d read 2 in one day. So count me in!

I had the same problem – I was reading it, but wasn’t retaining anything – I kept telling myself – this is a read, not a study and learn, but it was still hard to focus and just read and then not know what it was I read…

It’s nice to hear that I wasn’t alone. I felt so bad. I felt like I failed my group leader. She was so encouraging.

  33. I am in!!! What a great idea – I admit I have felt a little lost in the mornings with little direction!! I will be following along – thanks!

  34. I failed the 90 Day Challenge as well. I think this smaller challenge is what I need, especially as Advent is drawing near, to commit to Him. Thanks for this!

Since I failed miserably at the 90 day challenge and I am just about to finish Psalms, I think I will join in.. this will be a boost to help keep me going on my Bible reading… I will make myself finish this next day or two and be ready to start in.

I will promote it on my blog as well ~ http://www.christadarr.blogspot.com

You didn’t “fail miserably” if you’re still plugging away at it! There’s no command in scripture to read the Bible in 90 days. If you read it in 180 days, or a year or 2 years or 5 years… It’s all good… as long as you keep reading! =)

Thanks Alina ~ I was really trying to do the 90 day challenge and life just happens… I am continuing to read and will finish the Bible. My goal now is to finish it before she starts the next 90 days so I give it another try. I have never read it all the way, so this is huge for me and I will complete it- no matter how long it takes me!

    2. Thanks for inviting others to join us!

I would love to participate too! Will there be an email or something? A reading chart? I’m not on blogs as much as email. Thanks!

    1. We will be reading one chapter a day.

You can subscribe to MomsToolbox via email using the green box at the top, and then you’ll get each day’s post right in your inbox.

      Thanks for reading with us!!

      1. Hi Amy! Thank you so much for doing this! I am so looking forward to this journey. I had a couple of questions, though. Since there are 30 days in November, will we read two on the last day? Also, can you tell me what the SOAP method is? I’m sorry for the questions, I’m a newbie! :-)

        Many blessings,
        Lisa

  49. I’m in! Since finishing the Bible in 90 days, I haven’t been in the Word like I should be. Thanks for keeping accountable through your great resources! ~ Ellen
