The Toolbox is up and running!

So… what do you think?

I’ve been visiting my brother and his wife who, as you can see from my previous post, have been an amazing force in renovating my blog. They have taught me a lot… and I look forward to yet another evening of Blog School once the kids go to bed.

Back when I was a very new mom, I bought the momstoolbox domain name with grand plans of a building a website. Nearly 7 years passed and the website never materialized.

This spring I was inspired by my sister-in-law to check out WordPress. I gave blogging a try, chronicling my training for the MS 150, a road bike ride from Houston to Austin to raise money for MS. I found that I enjoyed blogging, but knew I needed a new focus. (I’ve moved those posts to this blog, incase you’d like to read more about it.)

This summer I launched the MomsToolbox blog on WordPress and it has been quite an adventure. I’ve met some incredible people online and enjoyed the opportunity to share in so many others’ experiences through their blogs.

And I’ve been amazed at how willing so many bloggers are to share what they have learned about blogging.

That brings me to the newest development…

It didn’t take much of the vacation for my brother and his wife to convince me to put that domain name to good use and so, here we are!

David moved everything over, still using the WordPress platform and Toni taught me some blogging basics, found a fantastic theme and tweaked it. She also called in another expert, Joy, who designed my header and a few other buttons. Toni and Joy did lots of tweaking together, and I love the look they created for me. (In addition to their individual blogs, Toni and Joy host Happy to be at Home with a third mom.) I cannot thank them enough for all they have done for me.

Again, I am so amazed at the whole blogging community. Everyone I have come in contact with has been truly kind and willing to share. (This is nothing like the competitive world I was accustomed to in journalism school!)

So, here we are. At the start of another beginning. Thanks for being a part of this new journey with me.

I am eager to see where it will take us!

  1. Oh my gosh! It looks amazing!!!

    Way to go!

  2. I love the look of the new site! I especially like how you’ve “colorized” (I’m sure that’s the technical term for it) the blocks of Scripture in your SOAP post below!
