Bible in 90 Days… Are YOU in?

Over the past few days I’ve been honored to host posts from a few ladies explaining why they are taking on the 90 day challenge and reading the Bible in 90 days along with me, and hopefully you, too, beginning January 1 and ending March 31, just a few days before Easter.

Fortunately, many more of you have committed yourself to the challenge than posts I have published.

I would love to offer up this chance for you to share with the rest of us.

If you are a blogger, I’d like to encourage you to post on your own blog why you are planning to read the Bible, all of it, in 90 days, as part of our online reading community.

Then link up here to your post (not your homepage) so we can begin to get to know each other and start the encouragement before the reading even begins.

Please also include a link to this page in your post so your readers can see what others have to say, and maybe be encouraged to join the challenge.

For those of you who are not bloggers, perhaps you can leave us a message in the comments as to why you are in or how you reached the decision to join. I’d love to read about it.

You are open to link to this post all week, but those linked up or leaving comments by 8 a.m.CST Wednesday morning, December 23, by 3:30 p.m. CST Wednesday afternoon, December 23, will be entered to win a free Bible in 90 Days Bible and Participant’s Guide. You will receive one entry for a comment or link explaining why you are in. Only those with US mailing addresses are eligible to win. The Bible and Participant’s Guide are courtesy of Bible in 90 Days.org, whom I asked if I could create this promotion.

The winner will be announced Wednesday morning at which time I’ll contact the winner by email.

Reading the Bible in 90 days is truly an amazing experience. I will be honest and say that it is not an easy challenge. It takes planning, time, dedication and lots and lots of reading. I’m so excited with every email and comment I receive telling me who is in.

I can’t wait to begin with you and pray for your journey.

Sooooo… Who is in?

The Contest is now closed. Please feel free to continue linking and commenting, but the last entrants were link 21 and comment 35.

  3. I’m joining the challenge – think my hubs might as well and I’m going to try and get my sister on board too. Bought the “official” book and I’m raring to go with much prayer that I might see the end and experience the joy and knowledge of making it there.

  12. I just ordered Bibles for both my hubby and me. We will both be participating in the challenge. I’m very nervous, but excited to face this challenge, too.

  13. I want to develop a closer relationship with my heavenly Father. I have allowed myself to distance myself from him and it has adversely effected my life. I plan to devote personal time for prayer, writing in my prayer journal, devotions and Bible reading every day in 2010. :o)

  15. I have had a long few years, and haven’t been as close to God as I need to be, and I think this will help get me back towards the right path, and make some important decisions that are now looming over my head. Thanks to my dear friend Steph for blogging about this, which is how I found this!

  16. I really want and need to do this…I haven’t read the Bible through since I was a teenager and that was MANY years ago. I hope I win.

  17. I registered with the Bible in 90 days site and I’m excited to get started. With little kids in the house, I really want to start making time for bible study, so I think this will really help.

  18. I’m making it a point to stop lurking on people’s blogs! I saw this on Toni’s Happy Housewife site, and I am so excited about it! I have been a life long Christian, but never read the bible at all until around 5 years ago. I haven’t read much of it, but I’ve always wanted to know more. I think this will be a great way to jump in!

  20. I am doing this because I have always wanted to read through the Bible but never made it through the whole thing by myself. I think the accountability from others will help a lot.

  23. I’m joining! Ashamedly I have never read through the entire bible – I’ve been working on it for several years now and have been convicted of my lack of commitment. I am a mom of 4 and want to ‘walk my talk’. I admit that reading through the bible in 90 days is a bit intimidating, but I believe this is a tool God has provided to help me grow to be more like Him. Thank you for offering this and I look forward to the accountability and discussions.

  24. I’m also joining in! I’ve never read through the whole Bible at an accelerated pace. What a great way to stay accountable.

  26. I have been looking for a way to bring more God into my life. I think joining in the challenge would be a great way for me to do that!

  27. I’m in. I’ve been wanting to start reading the Bible more regularly and this will hold me accountable. Something I seem to need. I’m excited about getting to “know” more bloggers as well.

  28. I think reading the Bible straight through in such a short time will affect my spiritual life in ways I can’t even imagine.

  29. I’ve been praying for a closer walk with the Lord but have not been consistent with reading my bible. I have never read the bible the whole way through and have been wanting to do this. I believe that I start to do this every new year but never finish( reading through in a year) I pray that I can stay committed to the full 90 days.
    Thank you for this oppurtunity!

  30. I have been trying to get motivated to read the Bible. I have only read bits and pieces and the scriptures given in church. This seems like a great way to jump start me.

  31. I have started “Bible in a Year” programs on several occassions, and each time fell short (some shorter than others). I am so excited to start this program – and the new year – with a commitment to the Word.

Thanks for bringing us all together!

  32. My parents read through with us several times when I was young, but now that I’m an adult, I have been sadly lacking in that area. Especially since I have a 10 month old and have been treasuring my sleep more than getting up early to read my Bible…I’d LOVE to start the year off right by reading through the whole Bible! I plan to do the 90 days through the BIble.

  33. My father’s a Pastor, I’ve grown up in church my entire life, I’m now 30, married with 3 kids and sad to say I’ve NEVER read through the entire Bible….NEVER. So sad.

I’m in and I can’t wait to join in on the discussions! Thanks so much for organizing this – you’re encouraging, challenging and blessing so many of us!

    I AM IN!!

  34. I’m definitely in, and this giveaway would be great since we’re on a very tight budget now and I don’t have the extra $$$ to go get a new Bible.

  35. Sounds like something I can do. I have to give it a try. The format makes sense AND they had a Kindle version. Since my kid doesn’t freak when he sees me holding a little thing in my hand, but does have fits if I’m reading a book, this is IDEAL for me.

  36. I’m in too, have never read it all the way through, what a great goal for the new year, is there a formal sign up?

  37. One of my goals for the the past two years has been to read the bible, but unfortunately I have failed. This goal will continue this year and thanks to this challenge I hope to accomplish it.

  38. I am in. I have not read the entire way through before and I really want to grow this New Year. Thanks for the chance!

  39. I have tried, on several occasions, to read the Bible but always get overwhelmed. I’m excited about a plan to follow and a group of others to share this experience with.

  40. I think I just really need this jump start to my year (and each day!). I am trying to become more disciplined this year and this will be a fabulous tesst of my commitment- a very worthwhile one!

  41. I’ve read through the entire bible, but have stopped reading it on a daily basis for a few years now. This challenge seems like a good way to get into the habit of reading God’ word daily.

  42. I’m in because I’ve been a Christian longer than I’ve been married, a mom, and just about everything else in my life, but I’ve never made it all the way through before! (before NoW that is! dun, dun dun!) ^_^

  43. Ok, I figured out the linky, and I did a quick blogpost: http://readhearseefeel.blogspot.com/2009/12/goal-for-new-year.html

  44. What an amazing challenge to take on at the beginning of this new decade. I’ve read the Bible most of my life, but never read it cover to cover. I’m hoping to get a “big picture” view of the Bible.

  45. I can’t figure out the Linky, but I’m going to read the Bible in 90 Days, and blog about it.

  46. I try to faithfully read my bible everyday. However I don’t always make it. Would be nice to read/join others:)
