Bible in 90 Days- join in July 2010

Reading and Blogging thru the Bible in 90 Days with so many of you this year has been an awe-inspiring experience. It has been amazing to see God moving in so many lives.

And so how can I not host another Blogging Thru the Bible in 90 Days experience?

Our next group will begin Monday, July 5, and continue through Saturday, October 2, 2010.

I will go into more details as we get closer, but here’s a quick over view to get you thinking:

To give you a heads-up, if this is your first time, I strongly suggest you use a copy of the official Bible in 90 Days Bible. It is an NIV thinline  with minimal footnotes and has start and end markers for each day. With that Bible you will be reading 12 pages a day, Genesis to Revelation. If you do not use that Bible, you can download a schedule to use with your own.

As the start date gets closer, I will post a list of participants on MomsToolbox.com. And I will ask you to share the program on your own sites, on Twitter, and on Facebook, pointing readers back here to join us.

As a group we will meet on Twitter using #B90Days each Monday night from 8-9 CST July 5, through October 4, to discuss the reading, compare notes and cheer and pray for each other.

I’ll also post weekly check-ins on MomsToolbox each Monday where I will ask you to log in with either a link to a post on your own blog or a comment as to where you are in the reading and how it is going for you.  To remain listed as a reader, you must check in regularly.

Accountability and prayer support is critical in completing this process. To help in that, I am enlisting Bible in 90 Days graduates to help stay in contact with readers and check in with them. (Each mentor will be given a short list of readers to check in with each week. Mentors do not have to be reading with us again, but they must have read the entire Bible with this program.)

I am really excited about all the enthusiasm this program has brought to reading the Bible. Reading the Bible in 90 Days certainly changed my life… I can’t wait to read what it will do in yours!

If you would like to join in the next online session of Blogging Thru the Bible in 90 Days, either as a reader or a mentor, or if you would like to help in promoting it, please leave a comment here. Make sure the email address you enter is valid… I’ll be in touch with you directly as the date grows nearer.

Also, please swing by and fill out this short sign-up form so I can stay in touch. Thanks!

And, just in case you are wondering… here’s a link to little background on the Bible in 90 Days program.

    I’m in!

  3. I’m in. I look forward to this challenge, and figure that if I miss a day here or there that I will then keep moving forward instead of quitting.

Twitter sounds fun. I may not make it every Monday night though because I work on some Mondays.

I would like to participate in this. I tried to read through the Bible starting at the beginning of the year and didn’t get too far before I was sidetracked. I’m hoping that doing it with other people will keep me on track.

  5. I really want (and NEED) to do this, but I’m scared. :-) I’ve tried to read the Bible through so many times, and I’ve failed each time.

I’m willing to give it a go again, though.

  13. HI Amy, I am coming to you from A Cord of Three Strands. She is promoting this 90 days challege in an awesome way. I have tried and tried to read through the Bible in a year, in two. or whatever I can. I don´t think I have ever made it cover to cover in one time frame. I know in College I had to read it all but well, I think shame on me for not making it more a part of me as it should be. I have made fitness challenges and I have been disciplined to lose weight. Now I am praying to God to help me to be disciplined to read through His Word! I am excited! I will be busy. but I dedicate right now to reading through God´s Word with you all! PRaise His Name!
Thank you for posting this challenge It´s what I have been looking for without knowing it!
    God bless,
    Dani Joy

This is just what has been pressing upon my heart – reading the bible cover to cover. My daughter is going to sign up as well and as mother and daughter (and my son too) we have purposed to complete this wonderful task of finally reading the bible for the first time in its entirety and as a family!! I am so looking forward to this! Thank you for your gift of such a wonderful opportunity to bless and greatly enrich our lives even more and also for the bonus gift to be able do so alongside the added blessings of new friends walking the same journey with us.

  39. i would like to be in the July Bible in 90 Days…

  40. I would also like to sign up! I skipped last time because I had to finish other commitments and knew I would not be whole heartedly devoted to seeing it through… but we have finished everything and are taking a break. I’ve also never read the entire bible, and have felt God calling me to do so… I guess I’ve found it a bit intimidating… but we can do it together right?? I’ve got a new blog at acordofthreestrands.net so I’ll be blogging about my progress there. Is it ok if I copy and paste your links to some of these resources and promote this from my own blog? I found this link on twitter… so thank you!!

Do you recommend the Participant’s Guide found at the Bible in 90 days website?

The description on the website says that the Participant’s Guide includes one chapter for each week of study. It includes book overviews, personal progress charts, areas for notes, and questions to reflect on.

It sounds good but will it still work since we aren’t having a “real” small group?

    1. That is totally up to you and your style.

Our ‘group meetings’ will be on Twitter each Monday night and we will discuss some of the questions covered in the guide there, but pre-preparation will not be required.

For some readers, just the reading is plenty to keep them busy. Others are more reflective.

Almost each day I will be posting an observation from the reading and invite your comments on MomsToolbox. Also, you can sign up for a daily email from Biblein90days.org which will send you a verse to ponder and encouragement.

When Ted Cooper designed the program, he tried to incorporate as many tools as possible to help all sorts of learners. There is a video series (of which the audio is posted for you), a participant’s guide and the accountability factor (which I am trying to adapt to the web by asking everyone to check in on Mondays), as well as weekly meeting (also which has been adapted by using Twitter.)

If filling out the book’s questions is going to keep you from reading, don’t do it. But if you think you can read, then spend a bit of time reflecting, then go for it.

      Hope that helps!

  44. I’ve always wanted to read the Bible through but for some reason I’ve never been able to finish(to get started really). Can we participate w/out a twitter account?
