Scripture: John 20:31
But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
Observation: God documented so many of Jesus’ miracles and actions so that we would have the opportunity to learn about his son and, consequently would believe and have eternal life through him.
Application: God had no doubt that we would have questions. And he wanted to give us answers long before we even knew to ask. He wants to give us life, and all we have to do to attain it is to listen and believe.
Prayer: Thank you, Heavenly Father, for knowing I would have questions and for planning for my questions long before I was even born. You knew that Jesus would do amazing things that would seem unreal, so you provided many witnesses and also documented many of his miracles and actions in the Bible. Thank you for this gift so that I can more easily grasp and accept the greater gift of eternal life. Please continue to guide my study so that I will have a fuller understanding. And please continue to guide unbelievers to you. Help them to hear the stories and have changed hearts and minds.
