Scripture: Matthew 4:2-3
2After fasting 40 days and 40 nights, he was hungry. 3The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
Observation: Jesus had not eaten for 40 days. He was hungry. And Satan stepped in to find a weakness.
Application: Satan is not a complete idiot. He knew to try to reach Jesus when he might be weak. However, in his weakness He was still strong for the Father… and for us. I am not Jesus, but I can call on his strength when I am feeling weak and also tempted.
Prayer: Lord, I am tired. I am sick. And I am a little bit cranky. Please keep Satan away from me and don’t let me fall away from my devotional time for any reason. This is OUR time. Thank you for this reminder to stay firm on the important things and not let Satan take this time away.
