More awesomeness on my NY trip

Yesterday I shared some things from the previous day that made me smile.

It was a fantastic way to start my day and perhaps helped me to uncover even more awesomeness yesterday. And so, of course, I have to continue the trend!

Here are a few things from yesterday that filled my heart with joy. Thanks, God, for each of these gifts (and many more!):

An amazing visit with a friend from high school. Robyn inspired my in high school with her warm spirit and boldness in her faith. Yesterday we talked for hours about what’s going on in our lives. Our conversation was brimming with hope, love and crazy amazing promise and excitement. I’m thankful for Robyn’s gift of her time, stories and encouragement. Good stuff is brewing, y’all.

Gorgeous, historic views. As I was walking to meet Robyn, following Google Map’s instruction, I turned a corner and saw this:

I knew I was in the Financial District, but, still, just wandering upon the New York Stock Exchange building and its strong beauty literally took my breath away for a moment. I couldn’t help but pause and look and snap a photo.

Then, on my wandering a back, I turned another corner to see this:

Gorgeous beauty was just tucked in all around me!

A super cool wine bar surprise. After meeting with Robyn, and before heading back to the hotel, I happened upon this wine bar on Stone Street and ducked inside to check it out.

The wine and cocktail lists were adventurous and still comforting. The bartender was knowledgeable and approachable. I enjoyed an arugula and beet salad with a glass of Cabernet Franc from Le Monde in Italy and got a bit of work done.

What a delightful street:

More inspiring, energetic women

The evening wrapped up with the kickoff of the impetus for my trip, the Women’s Entrepreneur Festival, hosted by Joanne Wilson along with her sister, Susan Saloman.

This pic shows just one of the fantastic aspects of the evening:

Susan Lyne was inspiring, as was the keynote, Sheila Marcelo, CEO of Care.com.

After these incredible ladies spoke, things continued to be exciting and inspiring as I met several other energetic, friendly, super smart and accomplished women in the room, reconnected with a few from the past and exchanged stories. The event continues today and I’m already energized, wondering what experiences and introductions God has in store for me next.

I’ll admit it:  Sometimes it’s hard to introduce yourself to ‘strangers’. (Did I feel a little dorky introducing myself to the lady in the bathroom line? Sure, I did! Am I really glad I did because it led to great conversation and inspiration? You bet!!)

You gotta reach out to fully receive some gifts. Once you do, things can get pretty amazing.

I hope you have a wonderful Thursday and find gifts to enjoy. I can’t wait to see what today brings!
