Proverbs in 31 Days: Day 3, Proverbs 3: Calling on Him to make straight my path

Proverbs in 31 Days with MomsToolbox

Howdy! I am in Texas, y’all. And it’s Houston Rodeo time. So there. But back to the matter at hand…

How’s the reading going?

Are you finding time to soak in His word? Or are you flying through to check it off? I do pray that you are finding connection more than completion and that you are using the reading plan to facilitate that connection. I know it helps me.

Today we are on Proverbs 3. Here’s what I heard…

Today’s Reading: Proverbs 3

Using the SOAP devotional method, here’s what I heard this time…

Scripture: Proverbs 3:6

In all your ways acknowledge him,

and he will make straight your paths.

Observation:

Reach out to Him always, in everything, and He will be right there to help.

Application:

Life as mom, and life as a startup CEO, can be lonely. I feel as though I am constantly forging new ground. There are so many unexpected journeys, so many times that I feel like I am reaching beyond myself to get done what needs to get done. So many times that my path is jumbled and I am not sure what to do first and second because everything seems to important.

I bet I’m not the only one who feels that way. I bet so many others feel that frustration and loneliness  and confusion at times in whatever roles they play, too.

When I remember to reach out to Him, to cry out in frustration or call out and ask for guidance and comfort, so often I see Him. I see Him in the struggle, guiding me, comforting me, and I see Him in the solution or answer– even when those answers aren’t the ones I want right now.

Prayer:

Lord, I need your help. I need my paths to be made straight. I need to know how to order my tasks. I’m a bit overwhelmed, but I know you can help. Please, Lord, make straight my paths. Show me what to do. I am yours.

Thank you for this reassurance that you are here, listening. And that you will guide me.

I love you.

Amen.
