Proverbs in 31 Days starts TOMORROW!

Good morning, sweet friends and Happy Last Day of February… and Happy First Day of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo if you’re in Houston like I am!

Guess what today also is… It is the day before we begin the Proverbs together, one chapter a day, for all of March!

There are 31 Days in March. There are 31 chapters of wisdom in the book of Proverbs. And together, we can start of every single day of March in His word, reading, listening, praying, pondering.

I’m excited to take this time to do the reading. My plan is to read both the NIV and The Message each morning and journal what I hear before jumping into anything else each day.

How will you read the Proverbs in 31 Days?

What about you? Which translation will you read? Will you read with your eyes or will you listen with your ears? Will you journal as you read? When will you read? How will you set up your time to make it about connecting with Him?

Connecting not Completing

Yesterday in church, Timothy Ateek, who is on our regular rotation and also leads Breakaway Ministries in College Station, shared his thoughts that time with Jesus and the Holy Spirit should be about connection, not completion. I agree. Yes, I am sharing a reading plan with you to follow. But please don’t see this as merely ticking off a box each day. Read for connection. Listen for connection. Ask the Holy Spirit to join you, to guide you and then jump in ready to meet with Him each and every day.

I will be posting my thoughts from a previous Proverbs in 31 Days session every day of the reading. This way I know you’ll get a reminder each morning and have a spot to comment and share your thoughts. This also enables me to really take my time and not feel pressured to have something to share on a deadline. (I love sharing, but sometimes it can be stressful!)

Free Proverbs in 31 Days Journal

You are, of course, invited to share your thoughts in the comments. I love hearing what you have to say. I am very much a journaler, though, and love old-school pen and paper. In case you are, too, I created a Proverbs in 31 Days Journal that guides you through the SOAP process in reading and reflecting. Please download, print and use it if it will help you in any way. It is my gift to you.

Ready to read? I am excited. I hope you are, too.

Let us know in the comments what YOUR plan to read will be: Which translation? When during the day? Journaling or no journaling?

See ya tomorrow!

In Love,
