SOAP Daily Devotional: What does God want me to do?

by

When I’m not reading through the Bible in 90 Days, I use this reading plan to keep me in the Word daily.

If you aren’t already following a daily plan, or you are between plans, I hope you’ll consider joining me. Just jump in on today’s date.

Today’s Reading: Job 5; Psalms 108, Acts 10-11

Here’s what I heard today using SOAP:

Scripture: Psalm 108: 12

Give us aid against the enemy,

for the help of man is worthless.

Observation:

Only when you are working with God will you experience true success.

Application:

In all that I do, I need to seek the Lord’s blessing and follow Him. No matter how many people I have on my team (even highly skilled people) if God isn’t on board, true success won’t happen. Sure, small victories might, by true success won’t.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for this reminder to seek you and follow your guidance in all things.

I want to accomplish so much but, without you, it will all be meaningless.

Lord, please help me to see what ‘projects’ you back and which are my own.

Help me to release the ones you don’t have planned for me and just work on those you have in mind for me.

You know what is best. You will grant me victory for you on all those endeavors. I need your help in seeing what is your plan and sticking to that alone.

Please help me! I need your discernment!

Thank you, Lord, for reminding me of this today. I needed it!

But you knew that. :)

  1. Thanks for sharing this because it’s just what I needed. My husband and I are having to make a lot of decisions right now and I’ve got a few projects I’m considering tackling. I needed the reminder that God is first and He knows best!
