Scripture: Matthew 3: 16-17
16As soon as Jesus as baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and lightning on him. 17And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
Observation: At the moment Jesus was baptized, there was an immediate, obvious and awesome response from the heavens.
Application: I could not imagine how incredible it would have been to witness this! How could all of that happened and Jesus not be who he said he is? And this is just one of the absolutely amazing circumstances we read about and learn about in the Bible… there are so many!
It really makes me sad that so many can deny who Jesus is… and yet they don’t take the time to read the Bible and investigate on their own.
When you make the time to read the Word, you see incredible, undeniable evidence that Jesus is the fulfillment of prophecy, yet so many choose to dismiss the word of God without even scratching the surface of it. That’s a huge bummer. How can you make a decision without reading the evidence?
Prayer: Lord, thank you for showing me your Word, all of it.
Thank you for giving me so much evidence as to who you, and your son, are. Although you don’t need to prove anything to me—you are the awesome Creator, Father God, you still choose to!
Thank you for so many miracles explained in the Bible. And thank you for tugging at my heart to read your Word…. All of it., so I wouldn’t miss one miracle or once incident of any kind that you wanted me to know about.
Please help me as I guide others to read your Word, all of it, as well.
And thank you, again and again.
