What has He told you?

Scripture: Acts 27:25

So keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will happen just as he told me.

Observation: Here Paul is on a boat headed for trial and the boat is experiencing bad weather and danger. Paul is explaining to the crew that God sent an angel to him, telling him that those on the ship will remain safe.

Application: One morning, after much prayer (in a very cool devotional spinning class at a church I once attended, by the way) I could hear God telling me “I will never let you down.” This echoed in my head, loud and clear: “I will never let you down.”

I had been praying about my fear concerning personal safety and I heard this come to me: “I will never let you down.”

Woah. I still get all goosebumpy when I think about that morning.

I need to remember that he will always guide me (if I let him) and that he will never let me down. My faith needs to remain strong.  No, he didn’t say I will never experience pain… more importantly, he told me he will never let me down.

Guess I needed that reminder today to keep my faith in him, and it will happen just as he has said.

What has he said to you?

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for your word, both in written form and the word I hear through prayer. Please continue to guide me in listening. I know you have much more to say. Help me to hear it and to have complete faith in it. And guide those who are also longing and listening to hear your messages for them and recognize them as yours.

  1. During one of the most difficult times of my life I remember praying and I literally opened my bible to Phillippians 4:4-9. It was amazing because I was very young and wasn’t familiar with those verses yet. I was in awe.
