Wooo-Hooo… It’s Day Two! (of the New Testament in 40 Days)

Day 2 reading assignment: Matthew 8-12

Buenas dias and welcome to day two of the New Testament in 40 Days!

Today the New Testament in 40 Days reading assignment is Matthew 8-12.

If you are reading with me, you have made it to DAY TWO which is super awesome! It means you spent time in the Word yesterday soaking in Jesus’ genealogy, His birth, His baptism, the calling of the first disciples, His healing of people and, of course, the beginning of His teaching.

Woah. That was A LOT!

Today we’ll continue with more healing, more parables, more lessons and yes, even instruction on where to go when we are weary.

If you are just joining us now, pop over to Day One of the New Testament in 40 Days to get the lay of the land, see who else is reading with us and download the reading schedule. (And then pop back over here!!)

I am so so excited that you have chosen to read every single word of the New Testament with me. We are in for an amazing ride. Yes, some moments will be bumpy. When that happens, please hang on, keep reading, and listen to what you hear as you read. Don’t let the bumps throw you off course. But if they do, jump right back in. You are always welcome here.

You CAN do this.

You CAN read every word of the New Testament… and I am here to cheer you on and pray for you EVERY DAY of THE WAY.

Your comments yesterday filled my heart with so much joy. I’m thrilled you are here. KEEP IT UP, sweet friend!! Of course I’m curious today as to what version you are reading. if you didn’t tell me yesterday, please pop a note in the comments and let me know what translation you are reading. Then, of course, hop to it and read away.

So glad you’re here,

  1. I’m reading along in the NLT. It’s my favorite translation for strictly reading because it just flows so well. Loved reading the Beatitudes again – so relevant for (what should be) our response to today’s issues.

    1. It does flow beautifully. ❤️ I’m glad you’re reading with us!!

  2. Sermon on the Mount is quite something isn’t it? A speech writer I’ve chatted to said it was one of the greatest speeches of all time. Hard to argue with that. And reading it in the MSG brings it to life in a really poetic way.

Thanks Amy for putting this together. You rock :)

    1. It certainly is, Jeremy. And you rock, too… I’m so glad you’re reading with me. :)
