B 90 Days SOAP: Focusing on true value

Day 44 of the Bible in 90 Days

If you are reading with me and are caught up, we are half-way through entire Bible!!! (There are 2 grace days built in.)

How does THAT feel?

Okay, after a bit of celebration, on with today’s SOAP:

Scripture: Psalm 119: 36-37

36Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain.

37Turn my eyes away from worthless things;

preserve my life according to your word.

Observation: Keep me focused on you, Lord, and on the things that are of true value according to your standard.

Application: I want so badly for my life to follow the Lord’s plan for it. Or at least I think I do.

So often I am easily distracted and find myself turning just a tiny bit off course. And I have to re-focus before I get too far.

I want to live as the Lord intends because I know that is what He, the all-powerful Creator of heaven and earth, has in mind for me. He really does know best. When I do listen and follow, I am always amazed. But it is so easy to get off track if I don’t watch out.

Prayer: Lord, thank you so much for your guidance. Thank you for answering me when I call out to you.

Please, Lord, continue to guide me and show me the path you have set out for me to follow. Show me what is of true value and make it clear to me. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word, for that is where I know the true treasure lies. And that, I know, is pleasing to you, my Creator.

Thank you, Lord for your forgiveness and for your persistence. And thank you for showing me the way.
