Journaling through the Bible in 90 days: Day 9

Howdy, dear readers, and welcome to DAY 9 of Journaling through the Bible in 90 days!!

Thank you so much for the sweet notes and comments of encouragement so many of you sent. I really appreciate your support. And I am super proud of each of you for joining me on this reading journey.

Today’s reading was kinda tough. It was hard for me to find a specific verse to feel was being spoken to me. Many of the laws shared were hard to read, too.

I am a follower of Christ with lots of questions, but also lots of love and faith. The first time I read the Bible in 90 days, I did so to get a list of questions answered. As I read, though, the importance of finding all of those answers diminished, replaced by an understanding that I do not need to know all of the answers. Instead I came to believe even more that all I needed to do was/is to have a strong relationship with the One who knows all and loves me.

With that being said, here’s what I’ve got…

Today’s reading: Leviticus 14:33-26:26

Scripture: Leviticus 25:18

Follow my decrees and be careful to obey my laws, and you will live safely in the land.

Observation:

God lays out rules and regulations to guide those in navigating many situations, promising safety if those laws are obeyed.

Application:

This was a hard day of reading for me. Some of those laws make sense to me and some do not. But it is not up to me to judge the Lord’s advice when it was given.

I am so thankful for modern medicine, Jesus’ coming, and the shift that happens through His teachings in the New Testament.

I want to understand it all– but is that my place or is faith enough?

Prayer:

Father,

Thank you for your love and guidance and forgiveness.

Help me please to understand what you know I need to understand or reconcile and to have faith to cover the rest. Help me to understand where you want my heart and actions to be. I love you. I trust you. It is not up to me to understand everything, but to trust you.

Guide me, please.

Guide all those who are reading with me, too.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen
