Proverbs in 31 Days: Day 20, Proverbs 20: Seek counsel

Proverbs in 31 Days with MomsToolbox
If you are reading with me, today we are on Proverbs 20. (Remembering what to read in the Proverbs is as easy as remembering the day’s date when you read them with me.) That being said:

Today’s Reading: Proverbs 20

Using the SOAP devotional method, here’s what I heard this time…

Scripture: Proverbs 20:18

Plans are established by counsel;

by wise guidance wage war.

Observation:

Seek advice before taking big actions

Application:

The Holy Spirit places solid advisors in our path. It is up to us to seek them and see them.

Sometimes I want to run ahead and go with my gut… but when I take a beat, breathe, think and seek solid advice, often things turn out better. He has me. And he wants to help me. For big actions, I should seek advice.

Prayer:

Again you amaze me, Lord. You really are right here with me, guiding me in everything, reassuring me and giving me the resources I need. Thank you so very much for that, Lord.

Please continue to guide me and let my steps and words be honoring to you.

Thank you so much for this reminder to seek counsel. Please, Lord, let the counsel I receive be true and from you. Help me to see my path as needed and know when that counsel is from you and should be followed and when it is not.

Thank you, Lord.

Amen.
