Scripture: Mark 6:8
Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid.
Observation: This is just after it was discovered that Jesus’ tomb was empty. These women were the first to make the discovery.
Application: Even if they had been warned as to what was to happen, this would likely have been a little strange and scary… and still quite exciting.
Jesus was not there!
I cannot even imagine how I would have responded. Here it was, the fulfillment of many years of prophesy being fulfilled with evidence.
There was no body. The stone had been moved. Jesus was resurrected!
Prayer: Wow! What an amazing experience that must have been for those women. Thank you, Lord for making such a concrete, undeniable showing of your prophecy. And thank you for empowering these women to do as your angel instructed even though they were filled with fear. Thank you for sending an angel to talk with them and explain. And thank you, again for sending your son Jesus to die and be resurrected for me.
